The team headed down to London for Tommy’s annual Let’s Get Baby Friendly Awards on Friday last week. The awards were held at the Landmark Hotel and celebrated the amazing efforts of those who have offered vital support to anyone who has suffered pregnancy complications or the loss of a baby. All of the individual winners were an inspiration and there wasn’t a dry eye in the house. You can find out more about the award winners and see photos here.

The DaisyTrail fundraising total for Tommy’s so far is £1,847.46 which is absolutely fantastic and it doesn’t stop there. The team will continue to do lots of fundraising this year and is asking Crafts on the Net readers to show their support for such a worthy charity.

“In aid of Tommy’s, our chosen charity for 2012, we are holding a bake sale at the DaisyTrail headquarters on 20^th February,” says Ashley Hewson, Sales & Marketing Director at DaisyTrail. “We’re also looking for bakers to put their culinary skills to the test in their area and sell goodies for a worthy cause. The sale will run between 20^th and 26^th February, and we hope to raise hundreds of pounds!”

Seven Steps to the Perfect Bake Sale

1. Design an invite. Keep it clean and simple, listing where and when the sale will take place. For a unique design, download CraftArtist Compact for free, buy the Tommy’s digikit and add photos!
2. Tell the world. Are you on Facebook, Twitter or Pinterest? Don’t forget to promote the bake sale to your friends and family, and ask them to share with their connections too.
3. Choose your recipe. Decide what you want to cook – fancy cupcakes, gingerbread men, rainbow fudge or pie pops. Scour your cookery books or search online for inspiration.
4. Ready, set, bake! Prepare all of your ingredients and equipment, and then get baking. Make cupcake toppers using CraftArtist Compact and take photos (this is when a little helper is handy!).
5. Start selling. So now you have your baked goodies. Display them nicely at your chosen location and begin selling to your customers. Remind them that all proceeds will go to Tommy’s.
6. Donate. Raised some money? Now is the time to donate it via our Just Giving page. Remember to add your name to the ‘Recent Donors’ section, so we know who you are.
7. Get scrapping. Record your bake sale experience in a scrapbook. Add photos and use embellishments from the Tommy’s digikit. Upload it to DaisyTrail and share it with fellow bakers.
