in Glossary

A brayer is a small hand roller and is normally made of rubber, sponge or acrylic. They typically used in to spread ink onto stamps or directly onto surfaces but can also be used to achieve various stamping techniques or to roll over two pieces of paper, gluing them together while smoothing out any air bubbles.

Tip: If you do not have a patterned brayer but wish to achieve different patterned effects you can tie various things (such as string, elastic bands, etc) around the brayer before using it.
