in Glossary

This is similar to the meaning behind ‘Acid Free’ and refers to the ability of paper or other items to withstand the effects of time. In the case of printed items and Photographs it refers to the ability of the images to retain their colour or blackness over long periods of time. In the case of paper, it is made with the intent of having an extended lifespan without discoloration or deterioration. Anything labelled archival should be acid free.
