DaisyTrail, the online social crafting network, recently selected Tommy’s as its charity for 2012 – with the goal to raise thousands of pounds to help fund vital research and save more babies’ lives across the UK.

The team headed down to London for Tommy’s annual Let’s Get Baby Friendly Awards on Friday last week. The awards were held at the Landmark Hotel and celebrated the amazing efforts of those who have offered vital support to anyone who has suffered pregnancy complications or the loss of a baby. All of the individual winners were an inspiration and there wasn’t a dry eye in the house. You can find out more about the award winners and see photos here.

The DaisyTrail fundraising total for Tommy’s so far is £1,847.46 which is absolutely fantastic and it doesn’t stop there. The team will continue to do lots of fundraising this year and is asking Crafts on the Net readers to show their support for such a worthy charity.

To get involved, you can buy our Tommy’s ‘Snugs and Hugs’ digikit for just £2.00. It doesn’t have to be used to scrapbook baby photos – why not make some birthday cards, gift bags or invitations?

You can use the kit with CraftArtist Compact – the free crafting software from Serif. Download here.

In the digikit, you will find some fantastic templates. To use one, open CraftArtist and choose ‘Start from Template’. On the left hand side click ‘Digikits’, and find the ‘Snugs & Hugs’ kit. You will then be shown all the templates and can pick one to customise.

The great thing about CraftArtist templates is that you can change everything you see on the page. Just click on an object on your page and you’ll be shown a range of options on the toolbar.
