Materials…

  • Onefourzero boat stamps
  • Acrylic paint
  • White cardstock
  • Emulsion paint
  • Black StazOn inkpad
  • Green Whispers inkpad

To create…

1 Cut a piece of cardstock to measure15x30cm, draw in a light central guide line and fold both sides towards the line until they meet. Fold in the edges using a bone-folding tool to create a gatefold card.

2 Draw the waves of the sea lightly in pencil on the front of the card. Measure and draw out a 10cm square in the centre of the inside panel, and lightly draw in the ground. Using watered down acrylic paint, apply a wash to define the sky and sea areas. Wait for this to dry completely before stamping the images as shown using a black Whispers inkpad.

3 Paint all the images using watered-down acrylic paint. Add deeper colour to the sky and the sea.

4 Stamp ‘sail the seas’ using green ink to the bottom of the main card and the central image. Using the same colour, stamp fish and rubber rings to the sea area to create texture.

5 Paint a thin blue line around the whole image in the centre of the gatefold card to frame it.
