To create…

Make the wrapped loops around the jadeite bangle tight to space the bead dangles. Alternatively, keep the loops loose so that they bunch together.

To make a wrapped-loop bead dangle, pick up a few beads on a headpin. Hold the headpin near the tip of a pair of snipe-nosed pliers and bend the wire over at right angles about 3mm (1/8 in) above the top bead.

Curl the rest of the headpin around the jadeite bangle to form a loop. Using flat-nosed pliers, wind the wire around the stem of the headpin about three times. Trim the end of the tail close to the coil.

To make a bead dangle with wrapped loops at both ends, pick up a washer-style spacer or a leaf bead on the end of a length of the wire, bend the wire back on itself about 2.5cm (1in) from the end and wrap the short tail around the main wire two or three times. Trim the tail close to the coil.

Pick up a selection of beads on the wire, then bend the wire at right angles 3mm (1/8 in) above the last bead.

Wrap the wire around the jadeite bangle and then wrap the tail two or three times around the straight section. Trim the tail close to the coil. Make about seven different wrapped-loop bead dangles in total.

To make a charm dangle, make a loop on the end of a length of wire. Pick up a selection of beads and then follow Steps 4–5 to attach it to the jadeite bangle with a wrapped loop.

Open the loop with flat-nosed pliers, then attach the butterfly charm and close the loop again. Make a second charm dangle and attach the dragonfly to the loop in the same way. Repeat with the resin leaf.

To hang the pendant, make a wrapped loop at the end of a length of wire. Bend the wire over 3mm (1/8 in) below the coil and wrap the long tail around the jadeite bangle. Wrap the wire tail around two or three times under the previous coil to secure the wire, then trim the end.

Tie the waxed cord through the wrapped pendant loop. Make two bead dangles using headpins, picking up a small silver-plated bead and then either a small pink or a small green bead and finishing with a loop. Attach these to the cord knot with jump rings.

To fasten the necklace so that it can be adjusted, overlap the ends by 15cm (6in). Tie each end over the other cord using an overhand knot. Pull the knots away from each other to shorten the cord length.
