big-bag2

Materials…

  • My Mind’s Eye Pretty Please paper & accessories kit
  • Plain ColorCore cardstock
  • Cathie Shuttleworth gift bag template
  • Stix2 double-sided tape, self-adhesive foam pads and PVA glue
  • Needle and white thread
  • Large brad

To create…

1 Use a scanner or photocopier to enlarge the bag template by 150% and cut out the template as directed on the instruction leaflet. Lay it flat onto the reverse of the pink floral paper and use a pencil to draw around its outline.

2 Use a craft knife or scissors to cut out the shape, cut off the handle sections and re-draw these onto a piece of plain green card, extending them by approximately 1cm to allow space for glue.

3 Take the green card handles and, using a pin, make holes fairly evenly spaced along their centres and stitch with white cotton.

4 Assemble the bag using double-sided tape and attach the two stitched handle shapes using PVA glue.

5 Take a 5cm band of stripy paper and, using your bag as a template, make a border for the top section of your bag, edging it with one of the thin decorative borders from the accessories sheet. Repeat for the back of the bag.

6 Take one of the flowers from the accessories kit and pierce the centre with a turquoise brad. Flatten the points, attach a double layer of foam pads and fix into position.
