dragonfly

Materials…

  • Cream cardstock
  • K&Co Blue Awning Flowers & Butterfly and Blue & Ivory Damask patterned papers
  • Gold 26-gauge wire
  • Gold Kars Rocailles Duo beads
  • Double-sided tape

To create…

1 Cut a 14″ length of wire, fold in half and thread on a seed bead. Thread on another bead, this time criss-crossing the wire through the bead to hold in place. Repeat a further three times to create the tail.

2 For the body, place the two wires together and thread on two bugle beads. Separate the two wires and criss-cross through a seed bead to form the head.

3 Make two loops to form the wings, by wrapping the wire firstly around your finger then around the body of the dragonfly, in-between the head and the body. Repeat to form the second wing. Turn to the other side and repeat to form two wings on either side. Twist the two ends of wire together to hold in place.

4 Trim a 5×1.5″ strip of blue damask paper, pierce three holes evenly down the centre, thread the excess wire ends through the holes and fix on the reverse with double-sided tape.

5 Matt and layer the papers onto the card using double-sided tape.
