Materials…

  • Inspire Me vellum paper
  • Red Inspire Me metallic card
  • Gold Inspire Me card
  • Laura Ashley beads
  • Gold 32-gauge wire
  • Double-sided tape
  • 3D foam squares
  • Woodware 3-petal flower punch

To create…

1 Punch three flowers from the vellum paper. Shape the petals by placing them in the palm of your hand and gently rubbing your finger over each petal in a circular motion.

2 Place the petals on top of each other, spreading the petals round, and pierce seven holes in the centre.

3 Cut a 30cm length of wire. Starting at the back of the petals, thread through to the front, place a bead on the wire then thread back down through the same hole. Repeat this in the other six holes. Twist the wire in place at the back of the flower.

4 To form the leaves, cut 50cm of wire, fold in half then thread on one bead, letting it fall to the centre. Next thread on two beads and criss-cross the wires through both the beads. Pull both ends of the wire so that the two beads lay parallel with the first. 5 Repeat this technique on the following rows, increasing with a bead on each row till you have a row of five beads, then start to decrease on the next row until the final row has just one bead. Twist the ends of the wire together to secure.

6 Repeat the technique to make a second leaf, making it a smaller leaf by only increasing the beads up to four. When this is complete twist the wires of the two leaves together.

7 Cut out a square of gold card, pierce a hole in the card and thread the end wires at the back of the flower through. Hold these wires in place at the back of the card with double-sided sticky tape.

8 Make a further hole in the card underneath the petals and thread the beaded leaves through, again holding in place with double-sided tape. Use some 3D foam pads to secure the back petals of the flower.

9 Cut out a larger square of the red metallic card, matt the gold card on top then mount onto the white card blank.
