Materials…
- Ivory cardstock
- Striped patterned paper
- Coloured wire
- Coloured seed beads
- HobbyCraft butterfly punch
- Silver cardstock
- Papermania dome greeting sticker
- White narrow ribbon (2mm width)
- Berol felt tip pen
- Small round- and straight-nosed pliers
To create…
1 Cover two-thirds of the ivory card with patterned paper. Cover the join with narrow white ribbon.
2 Form the five petals of each flower by bending the wire halfway around a rounded pen five times (eg a Berol felt-tip pen) to create a row of five tightly placed semicircles.
3 Gently pull the ends of the row of semicircles together so that the wire meets to form the flower head. Twist to secure.
4 For the middle flower, thread yellow seed beads onto the remaining wire and curve to form the centre of the flower. For the side flowers, twist wire into two loops to form the centre.
5 Using straight-nosed pliers, bend the wire at the bottom of each flower to create a right angle for the stem. Create leaves using straight- and round-nosed pliers. Thread the leaves of the outer flowers with green seed beads.
6 Use straight-nosed pliers to form the ‘vase’ out of the remaining wire. Glue all the wires into place and cover the join with a small bow.
7 Punch three butterflies from silver cardstock. Bend slightly at either side of the body to make the wings stand up, and glue into position. Attach the dome sticker greeting.
