Materials…

  • Kraft cardstock
  • Acid green cardstock
  • Provo Craft Cuttlebug machine and D’vine Swirls embossing folder
  • Circle cutter
  • Sizzix die-cutter and Holly & Berries small die
  • Compass
  • Pink gingham 1.5cm-wide ribbon
  • Cream beads
  • Hot glue gun
  • M&F board
  • Hole punch

To create…

1 Use a circle cutter to cut two 7.5cm-diameter circles. Using a compass, draw a 5.5cm-diameter circle onto one of the circles.

2 Cut a 3.5cm aperture from the centre of both circles and glue the two rings together. The drawn 5.5cm circle needs to be facing outwards.

3 Cut 29 holly leaves using a Sizzix machine and holly die, and fold down the centre of each leaf using an M&F board.

4 Pass each leaf through a Cuttlebug machine and emboss using the D’vine Swirls embossing folder.

5 Working in pairs (with the wider part of the leaf at the bottom), hot-glue the leaves around the drawn inner circle. You will get seven pairs around the circle, with a small gap left for the hanging ribbon.

6 For the next round take one leaf and glue it to the centre of the already placed pairs, again with the bottom tip of the leaf following the drawn circle.

7 Take one holly leaf and glue it between the clusters of three, with the bottom tip lining up with the inner aperture. There should be six for this round with an odd pair at the top, where the hanging ribbon will be.

8 Tie seven small bows and glue them into the spaces (except for the top two leaves).

9 Glue three beads over each bow to create a holly berry effect.

10 Punch a small hole at the top for hanging ribbon.

11 Tie the long length of ribbon together at one end to form a loop, and thread through the hole to form a hanging ribbon.
