To create…

1 Cut a heart from red felt and one from acetate, and trim a square of brown fabric using pinking shears.

2 Layer the felt heart over the acetate heart, and use gold thread to sew them to the brown square.

3 Stitch a border around the front of a cream card blank using red thread. Push the thread ends to the back and tape down.

4 Attach the heart panel centrally on the card blank with a gold cross-stitch in each corner.

5 Add a rub-on greeting below the heart panel, and a cream paper insert inside to hide the back of the stitching.

6 Add a small drop of cinnamon and orange essential oil to the felt heart, being careful not to get oil on the card. The oily patch will disappear in 24 hours, but the scent will remain.
