Materials…

  • Sassafras Lass, Jenni Bowlin patterned paper
  • Technique Tuesday circle chipboard
  • Heidi Swapp chipboard alphabet
  • Hambly rub-on
  • Reeves watercolour paint
  • Royal & Langnickel Aqua Flo watercolour brush

To create…

1 I have used Technique Tuesday circles as the base of my layout. You can make your own by cutting two circle frames from white cardstock.

2 Add a white rub-on to the large circular frame.

3 Lightly watercolour the frame. I have added extra colours around the trees. (The rub-on should resist any colour. I find the easiest way to apply watercolour is by using the Aqua-flo watercolour brush.) Allow to dry.

4 Attach the large frame to patterned paper. Carefully cut out the deer from the patterned paper before doing this.

5 Cover the smaller circle frame with patterned paper.

6 Add photos to the smaller frame.

7 Attach the smaller circle to the larger frame. Make sure that the deer cut out from the patterned paper is not showing.

8 Add the deer to the large frame, then add your title.

Top tip…

Most die-cut shapes are cut out of a 12×12″ base, so end up slightly smaller at 11.5″.  I have used this size discrepancy to add another circle as an offset to the larger circle
