Hi All,

I thought I'd let you know how I'm getting on with the Shimelle Laine online class True Stories which started 2 weeks ago.  I've wanted to try one of Shimelle's classes for ages but didn't think I could do them justice, time-wise.  I signed up for this one on the spur of the moment and I'm so glad I did.

I didn't realise how boring my scrapbook journaling was until I started this course.  It is well organised, with interesting contributors who give you lots of background information and ideas before setting you a task.  The emphasis is on writing, preferably with pen and paper and I've found the ideas just inspirational.  They would never have occured to me otherwise but this class has given me a bank of really interesting ways to approach this and I can't wait to get back to scrapping some pictures. 

Has anyone else found a good source of online classes they want to share?

I think that would be a really interesting and useful course to do but I've never seen anything advertised.  If I do I'll let you know.  I certainly found Shimelle's course thought provoking and this one has not been too much work.  I would love to take part in her Journal Your Christmas class but I think I would find that too much when I work full time but we'll see.

The True Stories course was 2 weeks long.  Each day a prompt comes to your inbox with a link to the website.  You are given a password with which to access the materials which include ideas, photos of completed projects or pages and other information you need.  You can work in your own time, skipping a couple of days if you're busy or keeping up with each daily prompt.  The materials were online and accessible even after the two weeks was up so you can catch up.  The Journal your Christmas was brilliant.  I really enjoyed this and it worked in a similar way but the first prompt was on 1 Dec. and the last 6 Jan.  I only scrapped until the 2nd Jan as that was a convenient date for me to stop.  Having paid to join the 2010 class, I can now do as many years for no more fees.  Shimelle's classes are interesting and thought provoking and are aimed at the scrapbooker.  Your can check out her classes at http://www.shimelle.com
