Yell plus a million more angry faces!!

Listen to this… well ok, read this!!!

… down at Mum's house, got the workmen in digging and whatever fencemen do… the tenant to be's mother

comes down – they are doing the garden – she asked when we are going to move the oil tank… and get rid of the base – Keith said it will have to wait for the time being, just had to pay out for 2 skips (not cheap) got to empty the tank first.  She replied… wait for it….

well if you want you can put the oil in my tank and fill it up when the tank is moved Yell  ……over my dead body !  My Mum always said if anything happened to her and the oil tank had anything in it… I was to have it – she didnt want the counciil to have it, well its the same thing now…council are paying for the tenant as and when she moves in.

I SO hope she fails the next credit check, this is getting beyond a joke.

I think I have gone wrong somewhere in my life… I think they  think we are a bank for the needy – no…we are having to manage on sick money, Keith is off work legitimately, but we still have to save for things and are not quite as lucky as some folk getting £1300 to furnish a house.

I am going now to sit on the naughty step, I dont like feeling like this, or saying things like I have – some people who are in the same boat, go out and contribute and I dont begrudge someone who genuinely does need help…. aaaggghhhhhhh

Now where is that spare bottle of wine that I saw Anji with :D

Karen I know only too well how you are feeling. I have osteo arthritis in my hip and spine and most other joints but can I get a handrail on the stairs, no got to pay for it out of £35 per week pension. Admit I get council tax help as I live alone but hey worked all my life paying taxes etc, now I am retired there is NO flippin help. Only just got a full pension of £130 per week as I proved I am living alone but took 4 1/2 years to get it. I say what have I done wrong as well. But it's because we are idiots and pay our way. I understand it makes you bitter and say things that would normally not enter your head. Bloke next door but one is on the sick gets loads of help, when he's out front he hobbles on a stick, out back he's digging putting up fences etc etc. Think I may join you on the Step.

Can understand why you are angry Karen. (Make sure you keep the oil – costs a fortune at the moment, having just had 1,000 litres delivered.)

There is something wrong with our system and the sooner it is sorted the better. Those that contribute to society seem to be those that suffer the most. Could go on for hours ……. but I'll just join you on that step!

Thank you for your kind comments… I am normal!!!

I would rather empty the tank by thimble if I have to (not really…but you know what I mean)  as the girl is claiming for carpets and curtains, Keith has come up with the idea of asking the L/A if we have to supply them as she is already claiming for them.  Also to see if we have to leave the oil in… there is just under half a tank (can you imagine me going to and fro with a thimble :D :D )

Still seething over things… waiting patiently for tomorrow when the L/A rings her to let her know how things are going… they are NOT going to be pleased.  Will keep you up dated!

and as for them medicals Jenni… Keith has to go twice a year to prove he is off work legitimately – the Drs have all said they dont think he will work again.  Not for the want of going back… he wants to, has tried it, but it just knocks him off his feet and then spends the weekend in bed, and that is only working a couple of days for a few hours…. here I go again!!!

What can I say folks? Makes my usual aches, pains & moans seem totally irrelevant. Worked hard all my life, brought up the kids on my own with no help from their father, paid off the debts and have now been informed that instead of getting my pension in 3 yrs I've got another 8 to go! Still, I'm here to tell the tale.

Karen, I'll bring some extra thimbles down to the step so we can all help out.

Keep on smiling

Karen,

You will not have to fill the oil tank up or provide oil, unless you are renting the property on a fully inclusive basis – i.e. all electicity, gas heating etc supplied, which I cannot imagine that you are. Years ago we had a flat which we let out to a girl who was on benefits, and although the council paid the rent, she was responsible for all of her bills – which the oil would be one of.

Thanks for that Mel… so I suppose we are within our rights to empty the tank  -  really dont see why we should pay for her oil as well!

And yesterday she told Keith she has bought an iPad 2  .. probably with the grant she has got to get essential things for the home… silly Karen, of course an iPad is essential Yell

Karen I really think she needs reporting. I am sick of folk taking liberties, maybe it's sour grapes on my part. But enough is enough. If she has claimed for carpets and curtains then take yours out or ask her for the money. My son is in private renting and has to buy all his gas/leccie/oil etc. Sounds like you are being to soft and she will wreck your house and walk all over you given half a chance if she is behaving like that before she even moves in.

Better still look for another tenant. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Going to say thank you again for your support… I know we have been a bit too easy… that was before all of what we have found out since.  Tomorrow Ellen (L/A) is going to ring them, and lay down the law somewhat…we are seriously debating on what to do… as it stands at the moment the girl has failed the credit check, they have to find another guarantor.

It is much appreciated with the offer of the thimbles… by this time next year …we may have emptied it!!!

Get 'yer thimbles at the ready girls… we are empytin' that tank!!!

Spoke with Ellen, who in turn has spoken with the tenant to be and has laid down the law.  Also stipulating definitely  no smoking -  she has also asked for another Guarantor, and the reply was… she (as in Catherine) will text one over to her later Undecided
