Ive only read 1 mag so far Surprised.  I hope they dont mind me being late with 1 of the reviews.  Im saving 1 of the mags for monday when my dd is in hospital for the day.  Just sitting round on a ward for over 12 hours is gonna be dull so reading a fab mag will be just what I need to get going.

Hi everyone!

Things have been manic in the office (it's press week for my magazine!) so I haven't had a chance to look on here these past couple of days. Is everyone ok with what they need to do now or do you need me to give Iain a kick up the backside still & get stuff sorted for you?!!

Hiya,

I've had a word with Iain & he said that there appeared to be a problem with LiveCloud itself & he's waiting to hear back from them. As soon as he knows any more he'll either email back those of you that contacted him or I'll post something on here for you.

I've noticed that some of you have already started doing the reviews – thanks for that :)

A couple of things though – when you do your reviews can you try to post on the original threads so that there isn't more than 1 thread per issue. Also, can you try to go through the magazine and review each article separately – explain what you liked or didn't like about each feature. We need in depth feedback to find out what techniques or products readers enjoy or don't enjoy so that we can alter future issues accordingly to give you more of what you want & less of what you don't! If you don't like something try to give your reasons why so that we can learn from it – being negative & not in a constructive way doesn't help us make the magazine better.

Fluffy, there isn't a time limit on when you can review a magazine but we do like it if you can do it as soon as you can after you receive the magazines – about a week or so after you get them through would be great.

If anyone has any questions then please let me know :)

No Gill, I saw that you had written on the Complete Cardmaking post & went through the various features in there so I didn't mean you, honest :) Don't worry about the beading magazine – if you're not really a beader then you wouldn't know what to look out for. What you did write was helpful though so thank you :)

It's just that the reviewers that we had were posting shorter & shorter reviews & I didn't want you to base what they were doing on what you had to do. The kind of format that would be the most helpful to us would be something similar to the following:

For instance if I did a review on the latest issue of my mag I'd break it down something like this:

Creative Cardmaking 15:

Cover – what I did/didn't like about the colours the cover cards etc

Free papers – thoughts on the style, designs, quality of paper etc

The Card Expert – any helpful advice that I picked up, how it could be done differently

News – anything in there that caught my eye

Tried & Tested – did you agree/disagree

Craft Store projects – your thoughts on the techniques/products used

It's a man's world – explain what you liked & didn't like

The retirement years – again, explain what you liked etc

Technique of the month/Digital crafting – ditto above

1 product, 6 ideas – ditto

Using your free papers – ditto

You get the idea! Then at the end do a summary of the whole magazine, where you thought it was strong & where it was weak & what has caught your eye on the 'coming next issue' page

If you could do it like this across all the mags then this would be sooooooo helpful to us. Like I said, everyone's new to this so if there are any questions please just ask me :)
